Building a Fight Promotion
THE ARENA
THE ARENA is an upcoming series that will be broadcast on the live streaming platform Twitch. Creators meet up in real life, attend training camp with world champion athletes, and face off against each other in a range of competitive activities.
This affords not only networking opportunities for creators who often find it difficult to switch lanes into different styles of content while retaining their audience, but also allows creators to highlight healthy living habits (both physical and mental) while simultaneously increasing audience numbers through cross-marketing campaigns with other creators. Additionally, the project allows an entry point for brands that don’t typically operate on the platform due to content/audience types.
I originally had the idea for THE ARENA while pursuing my grad degree in Strategic Marketing. I spent about six months writing up the initial idea and casually exploring the logistics of the project, however due to the sheer amount of moving parts involved I had to postpone everything until after graduation. Immediately following graduation I started reaching out to creators and managed to gain buy-in from some of the biggest streamers and organizations on Twitch.
Unfortunately a few months after graduation, COVID-19 sorta forced everything to the backburner and everything I’d planned with creators had to be shelved until it was a bit safer to do in-person meetups.
At this point in the project, I have all the creators and coaches needed for Season 1, all activities planned out, venues located, and technical issues worked out – all that is left is to work out individual scheduling with creators (incredibly tricky working around everyone’s streaming schedules and brand obligations) and get everyone to meet up so that the show can proceed.
Look for THE ARENA to premiere in the last quarter of 2021!
